Service Above Self in Action

Jeri was proud to volunteer with the Rotary Club of Saratoga at West Valley College during the May Epic Day of Service.

Working alongside local Rotarians, students, families, and community volunteers, Jeri helped assemble more than 25,000 nutritious meals for Rise Against Hunger in just a few hours.

The event was fast-paced, joyful, and deeply meaningful, a powerful reminder of what our community can accomplish when people come together in service to others.

For Jeri, this is what local leadership is all about: showing up, working side by side with neighbors, and living the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self.”

Advocating for Access to Care

Jeri was honored to visit the State Capitol with Planned Parenthood Mar Monte and Dianna Zamora to advocate for access to essential reproductive, preventive, and sexual health care.

It was an empowering experience and an important reminder that advocacy matters. When community members show up, share personal stories, and speak directly with decision-makers, we help protect the services and rights that families across our communities depend on.

Jeri believes everyone deserves access to compassionate, inclusive health care and she is proud to stand with those working to protect bodily autonomy, preventive care, and essential services for all.

Supporting Essential Services in Santa Clara County

Jeri was proud to support Measure A, a 2025 Santa Clara County sales tax measure that successfully passed with strong community backing.

Measure A provides critical, temporary funding to help maintain essential health care, emergency, and trauma services in Santa Clara County while offsetting deep federal funding cuts.

For Jeri, supporting Measure A was about protecting the services families depend on - especially in moments of crisis.

The event brought together community leaders and advocates, including Senator Josh Becker, Assemblymember Patrick Ahrens, Assemblymember Gail Pellerin, Assemblymember Ash Kalra, Supervisor Betty Duong, Supervisor Sylvia Arenas, Peter Ortiz, Carol Garvey, and Jose Luis Pacheco.

Jeri believes strong communities are built when we stand together to protect access to care, emergency response, and essential public services.
